This is a list of short stories and other exclusives that have been shared with my newsletter subscribers. Some of these have been featured elsewhere since, but they always get shared with subscribers first.
SCIENCE FICTION
For my Guild Series, I wrote two prequel short stories. The first follows Erik Frost as he takes command of Vagabond and discovers the strings attached to his father’s legacy. The second follows Tuya Sansar as she seeks to follow her brother’s footsteps and leave Earth, a journey that will take longer and be more complicated than she’d ever dreamed.
Another short story I’ve shared is set before the events of Prime Example, the first book of my ongoing Rim Jumper science fiction adventure series. This story follows Kole Anwynn as he searches for a bounty on a frozen world deep in the galactic Rim.
This is a short story I wrote while exploring ideas for new books. Max Cowan retired from a long military career and embarked on a colony ship to start a new life on another world. Along the way, he’s approached by two siblings searching for their younger brother. He reluctantly agrees to help, and discovers that he was missing the excitement of his old life.
Black Spot is a take on sci-fi horror that was written and submitted for the Writer’s of the Future anthology. I didn’t make the final round, but I came incredibly close. Between you and me, I love this story because it combines the genres I loved to read while growing up.
URBAN FANTASY
Next up is a short story for my urban fantasy series following Jack Dahlish. I had so many stories about Jack and his friends that I began including them at the end of the books, and this one was included at the end of the first book, Lost Souls.
Connected to the Dahlish series, this story is a prequel set in the 80s and following the previous man to wear the coin as he tries to discover what is making children go missing beside a secluded river. This short story was featured in the Summer Solstice Shenanigans anthology, which is still available on Amazon in paperback. I was honored to have a story included alongside so many other great writers.
OTHER GENRES
Finally, I have a take on a psychological horror story that I wrote for an anthology recently. I wasn’t selected, but I had so much fun writing this story and I hope you enjoy it.
